Contemporary artist Emma Elizabeth Booth (b. 1989, Glasgow) works across painting, printmaking, installation, collage and stop-motion animation. Her practice is a mindful journey; exploring her inner world, bringing her emotions to life and overcoming feelings of uncertainty in an optimistic way.
Booth graduated in 2018 from City of Glasgow College with a First Class Honours degree in Contemporary Art Practice. She was awarded the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA) New Graduate Prize as the inaugural winner in 2018. In 2018, Booth was also awarded the WASPs De-Compression: New Graduate Residency,’ Dundee. Following on from this, she successfully completed a one year Workshop Assistant Internship at Glasgow Print Studio in August 2019. Now, Booth splits her time between working in education, on her own practice in her studio at home and being an active member of Glasgow Print Studio.
Most recently, she was selected to be part of the Society of Scottish Artist’s Mentorship Programme. This is a one year programme to work alongside and be mentored by another artist. This was completed in July 2023.
